The brothers Campana, Humberto and Fernando, set out in 1983 to demonstrate to the world a mode of Brazilian design that had not been "colonized" by European style. Their radical approach of their Blow Up series explodes conventionality, yet manages to delight as much as it surprises, as anyone who has ever played pick up sticks will attest. Arranging off-cuts of steel wire in a seemingly random assembly, they have forged a modern bowl that ably functions as a display for fruit, ornaments or collectibles.
